My Love For The City Of Nawabs

When you drive along the roads of Lucknow you'll find that there are hundreds of Rickshaw walas who ask you were you want to go . There are people who will always be there for you, even though you don't belong from the city. 
That's the beauty of Lucknow. Lush green farms and fields border Lucknow and there are beautiful dams and excellent monuments. Not to forget numerous car pooling type wale autos by which you can travel and save money while travelling.
Also equipped with an airport and the most popular railway station , Lucknow does not lack anything! It’s the perfect place to live! I was myself surprised to find out that Lucknow is among the most bicycle-friendly cities in India and many Bike-friendly tracks have been established throughout the city which leads to less pollution. When you ask my dad where he would spend the rest of life , there’s one word on his tongue- Lucknow ! The city deserves it. People want a relaxed and lay back city to live in once they retire and Lucknow is full of such people.
The buildings are designed in such a way that you gaze at their beauty . There are memorials, zoos and parks for one to spend their evenings and weekends. The food is the most talked about ! One can simply not stay at Lucknow and love the city. The beauty of the city is once you live here, you want to stay here, forever.

Even though I don’t stay in Lucknow , its where my heart belongs. People often say you simply cannot find a beautiful place than the place you are born and spend your childhood in. But that’s just not the case for my love for the city I was born in, its way more than that!
Lucknow is bordered with numerous villages that speak of peace and serenity. The beauty of the place is in its people, the locals, the food and the monuments.

You must have hear raving reviews about the food of the city already plus the locals living here are the most friendly. People of Lucknow are the best when it comes to connectivity and helping nature.
Lucknow- The city of Nawabs defines etiquette and civility in the most august manner!Situtated in the heart of UP , though populated , Lucknow is famously known for its “pyaar and tahzeeb” thing. Lucknow is not far when it comes to culture, music, art , shayri and poetry. Its one of the oldest and traditional cities of India.

What do you call a person who is gifted with two mothers? Happiest person alive on Earth ! Yes ! That would be me ! We all know moms are the best but finding a mom in your mom in law , now that’s god’s gift!
When I was 23 , I was engaged to my darling husband and to tell you the truth I was a bundle of nerves thinking of all the tasks and responsibilities I had to face after getting married. But I was blessed with the sweetest mother in law and she has by far the greatest impact on me.
Hailing from a village my mother in law is simple and kind hearted in nature but her strength , her power , her soft- heartedness, tenderness and acceptance of a daughter in law as her own daughter sets her apart from the world ! For me she was the best thing that happened to me after marriage . Yes , not the kids but it was my mother in law. Infact I never felt she was my husband's mother but always thought of her as my own.
She is a mother to 9 kids and does all of the housework on her own and believes in doing her work on her own. She inspired me to a stage where I felt I would be lost without her. Everybody used to make fun that ‘yeh mayka bhool gayi..aati hi nahi’ but the truth was she made sure there was never a moment where I missed my mom, at times reminding me to call my mom at home. Super sweet!
 I have learnt a whole lot lessons from her and ever since I met her my life changed. She has been my best friend and a mom altogether ! And being the eldest daughter in law she has always looked upon me as her eldest most favorite daughter! I do wish every mother in law out there would be like her than India would be such a better place to live! No tears , no drama ! Sigh !
Her ability to solve every situation without being dramatic and her willpower to never let go of the good makes her unique. She might not be a successful name in the outer world from within she has mothered 9 lovely children and she is the sole reason for their epic transformation into growing up to be good human beings!
My best opportunities were recognized after my marriage. She always supported me professionally and emotionally! Her belief ‘Look for those you can help, not those who can help you’ also is something I will not forget for a long time ..
Early this month Tata motors announced great Argentine Footballer ace Lionel Messi to have become the brand ambassador of Tata and will be representing them globally. A great brand meets pure excellence! The young are sure to go wild and this is a stepping stone for Tata Motors. Association of a brand with a great international player is very appealing and is sure to garner the attention of millions of customers!  Lionel Messi is one of my favorites when it comes to football and I think Tata Motors has chosen to associate with him for his sheer willpower and hard work has marked him a Hero!

The real joy of being together with the help of nature!

A few days back when my kid opened up my laptop and pressed the correct password everybody was overjoyed and called him a digi-kid ! He loves smartphones! Doesn't eat without watching a youtube video but hey I wasn't a happy mom to see my kid addicted to all the new tech stuff ! Like other moms I wanted my kid to take interest in games and stay away from the threats of getting stuck up online and in the web of digital world.
Kids often tend to get addicted to laptops, television and smartphones. Its the reason why we parents worry so much for their correct upbringing. I have often observed people who are addicted to the virtual world have no time to actually celebrate life and enjoy the little moments in life.



The video by Kissan is by far the best example for this ! An old man walking around watches adults entwined in the digital world and not enjoying being together. There is no connection between anyone, this is true and the real state of our society. Sadly we fail to observe this .
My idea of togetherness is to enjoy the moment like Katrina Kiaf says in ZindagiNa Milegi dobara and hence I make sure my kids play outside and spend more time with their grandparents and friends and not watch Tv or play games 24X7!
Real togetherness is when people connect when they meet - be it  meeting a stranger or a person we know! In digi world there is hardly any connection! For instance take instagram , 1000's of food pictures telling telling strangers how much they enjoy the food or how hard it was to cook ! But all these uploading pictures, have they ever felt the need to cook for their loved and tell them how much they love him/her? No! And with the selfie rage lets forget about togetherness ! Instead of enjoying all the happy moments with our families we tend to take loads and loads of selfie's to upload on the net ! This is the real truth of our society!
In order to stop this stupidity of the so called digi world togetherness where we share feelings and emotions via twitter and facebook to people we hardly know one should turn up their family and enjoy the little moments in life. Like help them garden and collect mogra flowers for your mom/grandmom in the mornings( That's one thing i love to do and helps me connect in the REAL sense)
Or they could collect rain water in fun ways or decorate your home with flower pots ! That's togetherness when everybody enjoys the little things in life in the REAL sense!
So lets make this world a better place by limiting the use of technology and putting a fullstop to all those things that keep us away from enjoying togetherness !

Cricket is one thing Indians take seriously. Everyone out there on the streets  or the playground will laugh at you if you ask them why they play cricket or why worship the sport? I have to cook for my kids and then pick them up from school along with house work. Apps have taken the the tech world by a storm, no doubts there ! My current favorite app is none other than the marvelous MYAirtel App ! Everybody with Airtel connection at my home are joyous as the Airtel app simplifies so many things simultaneously ! Everybody has an internet connection on their smartphone nowadays and people have speedily taken to doing everything via smartphones and in this era the introduction of the app is a significant progress in the Mobile data industries!
The app is very easy to install, I installed from Play store as I have android on my phone . They send an OTP after which the app gives a demo in the form of written words along with an arrow mark. There are a number of options on the app like the first tab buy and 'I want to' . 'Recharge my number' 'Airtel money' , 'Buy a new product' and start 'Start wynk'ing' ! I also liked the Airtel's one touch Internet. the side bar is super love too ! in the side bar one can add a new account which means users with two airtel sims , and then there is the notification tab after which there is the settings tab ! I am a great sir of our Paji , former cricket captain who got the cup for us , Mr Kapil dev! And eversince I heard he us starting anew league for which you don't have to play with your heart I was curious!

Guptaaji kabhi hume bhi Yummy wale Nashte pe Bulawo yaar !

Iam a huge foodie and when it comes to tasty food I lose all thought ! My parents always made it a point to make sure that we had the best food when we were eating was during breakfast ! Hailing from the north of India just makes it easier for you to understand why everybody emphasize on the 'Nashta' thing .

And now that I have kids I make sure my kids eat a healthy breakfast and my husband loves it when I turn innovative in the kitchen, just the thing I never had the time to learn recipes. But guess what I was shell shocked to hear that certain Guptaji and his family have over a 100 recipes for Nashta , that too each one unique and tastier than the other ! I make scrambled eggs, toast and coffee during breakfast and I am not much of a recipe woman and hence tasting different food comes in the form of visiting relatives and parties ;)

Well I was curious as to what the 100 recipes and the story revolving around the Guptaji ke wahan nashta is doing rounds after watching this video where everybody keeps asking Guptaji when he was inviting them for nashta! So I stumbled upon their recipes after which I wish I was born in Guptaji's family ! No really ! So tasty , so delicious and so much easier to whip up the nashta's!

Cornflakes is my favorite ingredient when it comes to whipping up some yummy nashta and I am so happy to have found the secret of Guptaji's famous nashta wali story ! This lip smacking recipes of  ‎Cornflakes‬ including the Chocolate and walnut, strawberry and cornflakes wali refreshing nashta,Cab corn basil and apple cinnamon cornflakes wala nashta ! Now I am just envious of Shalu ! So much Nasta wala awesomeness ! Shalu has recipes for every occasion , that's so cool !

Making the perfect breakfast is a tough job but when you have the easiest and tasty recipes then it seems like a breeze ! I am so going to try the sweet ‘nut-things’ wala nashta with a glorious blend of honey and nuts and the chocolaty heaven wala nashta ! An invitation from Guptaji's family would mean the breakthrough for my Nashta toughness ! Making that perfect breakfast would mean finding the right amount of ingredients and the right kind of recipe ! I just want a single ticket to Guptaji's household during their nashta time :D 

Have you ever been to Guptaji's household and been lucky enough to have tasted their yummy recipes? I can't wait for that invitation to yummy awesomeness. The best part is that Shalu (Guptaji's wife) uses Kellogg's 'anaaj ka naashta' wala cornflakes ! I am so going to stock these Kellogg's and whip up the tastiest breakfast each and every time ! “I am so done ! I am 25 and pregnant , wow just wow ! “ I grumbled during my first pregnancy . I was pregnant for 8 months. I was happy that I was going to be a mom but the sudden change in everything had me all tied up.

I was literally fat at the center and found it hard to manage even a total of 4 tasks on my own. Plus the pain would always come back.  All of my friends who had studied college with me and most of my childhood friends were unmarried, single and happy ! Well atleast that’s what I thought until I happened to meet them one rainy day.
My mom in law wouldn’t let me go out during my last months of pregnancy , that too added up on my frustrations. Imagine sitting at home watching tv ,eating and some more eating and not being able to go out to watch a movie or shop or even for a walk ! Whatever exercise had to be done within the house or in the garden. As this was my first child everything was alien and it was tough getting used to such situations and one fine day the volcano erupted and I broke rules wore a maxi dress along with my favorite flats and went shopping all by myself. Thanks to hubby he was kind enough to drop me (But he made me promise to reach home before my sweet mom in law would be back home from some function she had gone to).
As I walked past the bustling streets to the shopping mall I suddenly did not want to shop and instead of heading to the mall I caught a taxi and went straight to a place where me and my friends would enjoy during our college days. It was a resort but a smaller version and it took the taxi wala an hour to reach there.Surprisingly all of the tension from the past few months started leaving my shoulders and I felt way relaxed than I had felt in the past few years. There was a different kind of happiness in living the olden days again. The best part was when I reached there and fate had it as I was reunited with two of my bestest friends from college !

What a day it was , a memorable one ! We had coffee and shakes and cupcakes . Rejoicing and talking about our lives. My friends were all over me and awwing when I told them about my loving husband and the new joy which would be soon joining us. They discussed how they had been tied up with their jobs and had never time for a man but were stunned by the way things I had managed. That’s when I knew I was so lucky to be what I was and to have such limitless joy in my life. Their enthusiasm in wanting to know how I managed everything , their awe at my family and how I multi tasked put my life into the limelight. That day I enjoyed and felt like a happy kid.And finally my friends told me how they wished we had been #together and in touch and we made promises to stay in touch from then and there ! One of my friends had bought a new car in her own salary and we celebrated and cheered and she even gave us tips on buying and choosing a car , and the best she dropped me home safe and happy, oh yes I was so happy that day , from that day I felt a change I had never felt before !It was a day I always #LookUp to when I feel down :) 

Joy of new beginnings - Optimism overload

#StartANewLife is trending right on top on the Indian twitter trends and I got curious to as what was the reason behind this optimistic trending hash tag..

And I found out that Housing.com launched their new add which is quite colorful , it talks about how one should start a new life and #LookUp at the brighter side f life. Something like how one should focus on new beginnings and embrace the joy of engaging in a new beginning? Hmm. Sweet isn't it?

How many times have you heard of a new beginning ? Often you hear people saying 'Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.' How true is it in your case?

It happened so that after the first few months of marriage I was the most happiest person on the earth, but that was short lived. I remember the words ' Congratulations , you are pregnant!' I felt I was the most luckiest person on Earth. It was immense joy and pleasure, a thrill was coursing through me and my happiness knew no bounds. Until the day arrived and my baby died within me. M first child, my lil was stillborn. The pain after having carried her and fed her for 9 months it killed me when i heard she was stillborn. If not for my husband I would have committed something terrible. it was the most tragic moment of my life.

For days I shut myself off. Nobody could reason with me. I gave up all hope. All those toys we had brought and the gifts that had poured while Godh bharayi ceremony lay there still whispering comforting words to me. I would cry for long hours until nothingness swept over me. I kept very little contact with the outer world. And one day my husband talked me into going out for a walk in a park. It was my first outing in four months. 4 months mourning over the loss of my precious daughter whom the creator had kept it by himself.

The walk was liberating. The fresh air along with the noises from kids playing the park was disturbing. I was used to loneliness and self pity and here every other face was smiling. That day my husband held my hand and pointed towards two plump cute looking kids swinging and whispered we could soon be parents to the sweetest children , but that would be possible if i gave myself and my life another chance. He went on to tell me how life had its ups and downs and how we had to get over the past in order to make the future. That was when I realized what I had been doing. It felt like I was stuck in a never-ending cycle, one that kept me from feeling whole and fulfilled. The sense that something is missing had to eliminated, and I was ready to break free. I realized that my deepest desire was to improve my life and fill that greater vision for myself.

When you can no longer think of a reason to continue, you must think of a reason to start over. And that is what i decided upon ! I smiled back at my husband and thanked him for bringing me out. In that moment I felt I could put behind anything ! I understood the simple fact that there was a big difference between giving up and starting over in the right direction. Simple three little words "from now on..' guided me forward to a positive new beginning!

I called my mother that night and had a heartfelt chat with her. It was the happiest conversation I had in a long long time and it was the start of a new beginning for me...

A Happy baby = Happy me !

Only a mother knows what happiness it brings when she sees her baby smiling or when she hears his laughter. The sound of her baby's laughter is the happiest and the sweetest song she has ever heard. So what happens when your child is comfortable and smiling always? You know he/she is content and happy. And are the things that make your baby happy?  Well its easier to make sure a baby is happy and my baby turns happy vappy when he takes  regular nap , and the moment he is awake he smiles and laughs ( <3). A nightly cuddle also makes my baby happy ! Sometimes even singing "Lakdi ki kaati , kaati pe ghoda" for the hundredth time will keep him content. Happiness is that simple for my kids :) (Hey, he hasn't even heard of the economy and a whole lot shitload India is going through currently)

Also watching him laugh and grow, and listening to him coo, his smile, his eyes, his hair just everything makes me happy .

Its important for a parent to know that the signs of happiness for a baby can be very mystifying. For instance the sight of my face and the sound of my voice soothe my baby and brings a smile on its face.

I indulge in taking my kid along in a front carrier while I pick up around the house or talk on the phone as i have observed my baby tends to laugh and smile while I carry him, I think its the constant motion and change in scenery that entertains him and makes him happy.

My other kid who is 2 year old loves playing with toys that have different textures and make sounds , playtime and vrooming a car all over the walls of our home makes him happy.

Gentle music while  my kid plays with his favorite toys also makes my baby super happy. But the best part that makes him happy is when he watches his father trying to put those baby's shoes on his own feet . Its the sweetest and simple things that make my baby happy :)

Everyone has that moment in their life where you hit an all time low and then out of the blue you see or experience a moment that acts as a ray of hope, for the rest of your lives.
During the course of my life I often felt blue and down due to various challenges brought about by my life. There is no denying that grief, sorrow and stress are a part and parcel of life. Be it our past or present ,we’ve all gone through these. What life throws at us sometimes cannot be denied or repelled (When life gives you lemons, make lemonade..), so the best way is acceptance – taking what life gives, and deriving positive lessons thereof makes the whole difference.
But there happen to be a few moments in our lives that fill us with extreme happiness, hope, hope for a better future ! And in that moment you forget the painful past, you have a feeling you can get over the shitty present and embrace a bright future ! That moment of my life where I understood the fact that I simply cannot stop hardships from touching me, but in the end it was my attitude could either make me or break me.
When I was a kid I tried a little too hard to gain everybody’s attention , reason? Well born in a family where you are blessed with a bunch of siblings (Awesome ones!) ,one does end up getting a little less attention from parents , relatives and those whom you appreciate. I being the second eldest in my home was loved immensely but not as much as the eldest. Its hard to understand the pain hidden behind this. Like always being compared to the eldest (Not by my parents !) but by oh so in your face relatives and far far away family friends. Looks- compared, Scores- compared, hobby’s –compared, likes and dislikes- compared, dressing and habits-compared. Compared and deteriorated to such an extent that I would wonder why the hell haven’t they compared our eye color or shoe sizes! But if not for the continuous support from my parents and siblings I would have give up on my life long back. Slowly time ticked off . I very much loved my eldest sibling and held her as my role model. But the world gave it an another name. They told me again and again how I tried being like my sister and failed so badly. As time elapsed I slowly started long hope and sometimes simply couldn’t make up mind as to what I was actually doing.
The past full of nasty remarks and comments haunted me and it affected my present. My results started falling. My parents got worried. My siblings tried their best to cheer me up. But it was a stage where I knew I was doomed, reason ? I did not know. I felt like life was such a waste .
It was during this time that I had board exams and I thank god that I passed my exams but by scoring passing marks. Everybody where shocked. I did not give a shit. I shut myself in my own sorry world. No matter how many of them tried to talk me out of it , I did not know what came over me. I felt nothing ! A distinction ranking student to score passing marks was a BIG crime.
And finally that life changing optimism moment of my life showed up and I became what nobody could’ve ever imagined me to be. The moment swept away my depression. I was crawled on my couch haphazardly when I noticed a small lizard crawling by the fridge door, all alone and then trying to grab something and my dad came over and sat by me and he said if there was one thing in the world he did not want to change ever was that him to have a child like me in every birth of his. Watching the lizard finally get over the fridge and my dad’s words had such an effect on me , I know it sounds so stupid but at that moment his words along with action taking place in front of me coupled up and my heart was filled with enthusiasm and I wanted to catch up with everything I had missed doing in the past few months !
So yes my moment of optimism was something weird and funny but worked wonders for me. What is your lookup story ?

A few years back what I thought about my car would actually make you laugh. I thought of it simply as a conveyance that got me from point A to point B. I know what you are thinking. You know when you ask a mother about the bed rituals of her little one, she would wish that the bedtime went a little more smoothly.

According to me the best way to get your bed time rituals in use is to bring them in use everyday. Make it a routine..

Me and my husband make sure that our children realise the fact that bedtime is a happy and comforting way to end the day and not just a routine they have to follow like going to school or going to tuition's. Young kids are faster to adapting and enjoy the predictability of a ritual. So when I and my husband perform few simple tasks for our children before bed each night , it gives us a signal that everything is safe and sound and our baby is going to be alright.

It took me a lot of time to understand that a baby first needs to get out of his excited day time energy before I try and settle him down for the night. My kids would turn upset when I called it a night and whisked them away to sleep after their playtime. It was very important to maintain the balance and make sure that they weren't affected by the routine of going to sleep on the same time , every night.

The bedtime rituals I set for my kids included washing their face and hands, brushing their teeth, getting into their night dresses, sometimes this was followed by a friendly chat which included how their day was at school and lastly I made them say their prayers and zikr. I have always believed in keeping things simple and it has worked wonders for me.

And sometimes I indulge in storytelling as a ritual. This ritual is a favorite among my kids. The younger one doesn't mind if I repeat the stories . Haha. Bedtime stories also help to expand and elaborate a child's imagination. I have a boy and he hardly reads story books and reading story books during bed time gives me hope that he might start reading books some day :-)

Bedtime is undoubtedly a nice chance for kids and their parents to spend some time talking to each other. And I have been following this ritual religiously since 17 years. I learnt them from my mom , I am thankful to her for having instilled such good things in me. :)) 

Some would wonder why prayers? It is good to close with a short prayer because it calms and relaxes the mind and it strengthens a kid's faith. It helps to pray the same way each night so it becomes a regular experience. Also note that this not only teaches them the value of prayer, but it will also help them to bond with you.

I Like Power and I want to go ‘The #Sleek Way!’

I am a busy woman and have to manage multiple things at a time, so it just gets harder when I am not equipped with the right gadget ! No wonder gadgets have made this world a better place ! A desktop, that too a portable one: I for one, have never completely taken to using a laptop. I am a desktop person ! Hence when 19.5 inches screen desktop came into the picture that too portable i just couldn't hold up my excitement! I remember when I was in college I was anti valentine *You might have already guessed why* I hated watching men and women strut around wearing red. I have always believed love must be expressed on every single day of the year but as years passed my perspective changed towards the day. It was as if people wanted a day which was dedicated to love and I came in terms with it. Hell I even ask my love to do special something's on the particular day .

If I were to propose on Vday I would make sure it would BOLD enough for him to remember throughout his life ;)

That a total of close to 400000 Indian guys are searching (just on Google) for ways of, what is known (in India) as “proposing a girl”.* Now that’s quite some number.

If I were to propose the one I was having a crush on secretly vouching for a date then it has to be something different ! I would not think twice before opting for the go bold route !

If I were to ask my crush on a date out it would be the social media way ! With internet becoming a vital part of our lives its made it so much easier to ask someone out on a date ! Also it gives you the bolder edge as you are asking him out while not having to face him! 

Facebook: Tag him in all smoochy woochy pictures of love quotes and then send him a message asking him out on a date, also if he likes my fb status'es I get an idea he is interested in me to..

Blogging: Blogging is definitely my first love ! I would go bold by dedicating a whole blogpost telling him how much I adored him and how badly I wanted to go out on a date with on Valentines day ! It wouldn't be that bad ! Also what's there to lose ? If he accepts then it would be the best Vday ! If he doesn't then I might get even more bolder and ask his best friend out on a date!

Twitter: Everytime he comes online, start sly tweeting about not having a date (Dare you it takes a lot of daring to do that) And then if we are boldly lucky enough then I might just end with a date with ta hat hot cute guy I was eyeing to spend my Valentine's day with!

 Youtube: Make video telling him how much he means to me and if he could be my valentine . Definitely cute? Ain't it ! Youtube videos are viral and in no time he would be watching it with an amused expression on his face ! Sure to get that date sealed to my benefit!
